Meet Our Team

Rebecca Pratt

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate 4)

I have worked my way up from an apprentice nurse in 2012 to  completing my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing Feb 2015. I travelled to Europe and  UK for 6 weeks before joining the team at Caulfield Veterinary Clinic. I loved travelling and I am already planning my next big trip!

I really enjoy getting to know all your pets and especially you lovely owners here at Caulfield. As well I am appreciating the formal continuing education training sessions provided for us here.

Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym 2-3 times a week, makeup and spending time with my boyfriend, friends and family.

I have a 12 year old cat named Kyle . He is about to have his senior blood test here and I am not sure how he will go when I hold him. Banjo is my 25kg, 2 ½ year old Labrador X. He is an expert in digging holes in the garden – just ask my dad!

Ivana Pecoraro

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Growing up around animals, dogs, cats, chickens, turtles and rabbits just to name a few, my whole life is where my strong passion and love for animals started.

This passion motivated me to gain experience first volunteering at the RSPCA to then completing my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. I have a strong background in veterinary ophthalmology, having firstly worked at a renowned eye specialist clinic for animals. I am very excited and  keen to learn and further my skills in general practice, and to work along side a great team of people who are as dedicated to your pets well being as I am. My own pets include my  tabby Lucifer ( the apple of my eye), Bella and Milly two DSH sisters, Rocky a Schnauzer x  Maltese and Charlie a Scottish Terrier x Maltese.

I also have a keen interest in Marine Biology and love to spend as much time at the beach as possible. I love listening to music, working on my fitness and looking for new places to travel.

Ashleigh Wickham

Veterinary Nurse (certificate 4)

Ashleigh is our most recent member of the team at Caulfield Vet.
She says -

Hi I’m Ashleigh.

I have had a warm welcome in to the team at Caulfield Veterinary Clinic and am exited to meet all the fabulous clients and their four legged  friends over the next few months.

I have come from an extensive Emergency background working at University training Hospitals over the last four years in Perth and Melbourne.

I am know happy to be part of a tight knit team working close to home and am proud to be working along side a fantastic team.

I myself have a loveable Australian Bulldog Layla, you may see us around from time to time, and two cats Freddy and Patcha (Mr P for short!). They are tuxedo wearing twin brothers I rescued a few months ago. The three of them get along like  peas in a pod.

In my spare time I like to read, create music, do art and enjoy sunshine as much as possible, along with cuddle my furbabies and go for walks with Layla.

Veterinary Nurse

I have lived locally in Caulfield all my life and have had a very strong passion for animals since day dot.Besides working at Caulfield Vet, I am also studying a cert 3 in animal studies and am loving everything about it. Working with animals is something I feel I was destined to do.

I've always had an animal companion by my side, whether it was the tortishell cat named Jazz who shared my crib with me when I was a baby or  my three fur babies I currently own. I've had pet fish and birds, even a few hermit crabs along the way!

My current pets are Peaches the Westie x Maltese, Jack the Red Healer and Kudo the grey tabby cat who thinks he's the king of the world!

My other hobbies include reading, skiing and gardening. I am an expert texter and enjoy Facebook too.

Dr Janene Kirschner

(BVSC)

Experience: Janene graduated from the University of Melbourne Veterinary School in 1975 and she's been a practice owner for over 35 years. She started Caulfield Veterinary Clinic in 1990 after operating a clinic in Strathmore for 13 years.

Best part of the job: Seeing her clients' families develop and grow. Children of families that have been coming to Janene with their pets for years have grown up to be adults who bring their own pets to the clinic. It's a great privilege to be part of people's lives in the local community.

Post Graduate qualifications: Janene successfully completed a post graduate certificate in Surgery and Cardiology.

In 2005 she undertook the challenging role of being "Practitioner in Residence" at the vet school - an important role that facilitates students' transition from university to the world of vet practice.

Janene regularly has vet students from Sydney and Queensland universiyies visiting her practice as part of the University's learning programme.

Family: Janene is married with 3 beautiful daughters and a great husband,Geoff.
An important part of the family is Xena who is a 13 year old Burmese. She was adopted into the household last year. She loves to sit on any lap and stays there!
Being a Caulfield local... means having great clients who look after their pets well.
