Meet Our Team

Rebecca Pratt

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

I started nursing by working my way up from an apprentice nurse in 2012 to  completing my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing Feb 2015. I have enjoyed travelling Europe, UK and Thailand in between my time working at Caulfield Veterinary Clinic.

My favourite part of small practice work is getting to know you and your pets and helping to keep them happy and healthy. I am always learning new skills and continuing my education training sessions provided for us here.
I am also especially fond of all our greyhound patients and up to cuddle them all the time!

Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym, playing with makeup, baking, trying new things and spending time with my boyfriend, friends and family.

My fur babies are Kyle, a 16 year old domestic short hair cat who loves sunbaking and lots of food and Banjo a 6 year old Labrador X who loves walks, getting out to new places and cuddles - sometimes he comes to work with me and loves meeting all your doggies!

Tina

Veterinary Nurse

Everything started in year 10 when I got to choose my work experience, and I chose the RSPCA. From there I got my first pet, Kyo, a DLH black and white tuxedo cat, whom I named after an animated cartoon and started volunteering on weekends at the RSPCA. I have finally graduated with a Bachelor of Science at The University of Melbourne studying animal science in 2018, and now studying to complete my certificate IV of veterinary nursing.

Coming to Caulfield Veterinary Clinic has been eye opening for me as everything is hands on. Every day I am constantly learning new information and having so much fun. It is satisfying when I can recognise client and their pets. I feel lucky to have met so many supportive people along the way and really love our team at Caulfield Vet.

In my spare time I love to sleep and enjoy being a couch potato, binge watching some YouTube or Korean dramas, computer gaming with my friends and playing the piano. Otherwise I will be outdoors finding new brunch places to try and catching up with my friends.

Dr. Adele Vandermeer

Veterinarian (BSc, DVM, Professional Interest in Ophthalmology)

Dr. Adele Vandermeer graduated from the University of Melbourne and joined the team at Toorak Road Veterinary Clinic in February 2019. Adele previously worked in mixed practice in rural Victoria where she enjoyed treating an array of patients including goats, sheep, chickens, cows, horses, and wildlife, as well as dogs and cats! From working in a small community practice, she has learnt that developing a trusting and familiar relationship with clients is a key attribute to being a great vet. As for special interests, Adele is keen on ophthalmology and hopes to do further study in this area in the near future.

Adele has lived overseas in New Zealand, Belgium, and England but completed her secondary and university education in Melbourne. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, photography, sailing, hiking, or a relaxing weekend brunch!

Dr Kendall Rider

Veterinarian (BSc, DVM, Professional Interest in Companion Sighthounds and Surgery)

Dr. Kendall Rider graduated from the University of Melbourne and joined our team in April 2019. She has previously worked in Melbourne treating dogs, cats and rabbits as well as in rural Victoria in a mixed practice, treating large and small animals. Kendall is committed to nurturing the bond between pets and their owners and has an interest in general surgery as well as a passion for sighthounds.

Kendall has a soft spot for cats and volunteers fostering kittens until they find their forever home and also has two rescue cats of her own, Teddy and Monty. In her spare time Kendall enjoys caring for her indoor plants, and spending time with her family and friends.

Dr Janene Kirschner

(BVSC)

Experience: Janene graduated from the University of Melbourne Veterinary School in 1975 and she's been a practice owner for over 40 years. She started Caulfield Veterinary Clinic in 1990 after operating a clinic in Strathmore for 13 years.

Best part of the job: Seeing her clients' families develop and grow. Children of families that have been coming to Janene with their pets for years have grown up to be adults who bring their own pets to the clinic. It's a great privilege to be part of people's lives in the local community.

Post Graduate qualifications: Janene successfully completed a post graduate certificate in Surgery and Cardiology.

In 2005 she undertook the challenging role of being "Practitioner in Residence" at the vet school - an important role that facilitates students' transition from university to the world of vet practice.

Janene regularly has vet students from Sydney and Queensland universities visiting her practice as part of the University's learning programme.

Family: Janene is married with 3 beautiful daughters and a great husband,Geoff, and 4 lovely grandchildren.
An important part of the family is Xena who is a 16 year old Burmese. She was adopted into the household 4 years ago. She loves to sit on any lap and stays there!
Being a Caulfield local... means having great clients who look after their pets well.
